Bring your own badge(r)
Thanks to an idea from Sue Folley, we’d like to ask that all delegates bring their own badges to “Chips and Mash” 🙂
You can either bring your work badge, an old conference badge, or better still, show off your artistic flair and design your own mega-badge!
We’ll be awarding prizes for the best badges 🙂
Where to go on the day…
A Google Map for Chips and Mash is available here.
When you get to the main entrance of the university (which has a little mini roundabout), you’ll see the Creative Arts Building (which is circled in red on the photos).
Head down the pathway which is to the right of the CAB…
As you walk down, you’ll see that the CAB curves around to the left. You’ll spot a section of the 1st floor that juts out. Head towards that…
The entrance is just underneath…
Head inside the building and take the lift to the 2nd floor.
Fully booked!
Wow — amazingly the event is now fully booked!
Many thanks to everyone who has registered and sorry to anyone who wasn’t able to place a booking in time.

What will you get out of a Mashed Library event?
Mashed Library is a semi-unconference style event centred around the theme of data mash-ups in a library context (“bringing together interested people and doing interesting stuff with libraries and technology“).
The first event took place at Birkbeck College in November 2008. Since then, there have been events at Huddersfield (Mash Oop North!), Birmingham (Middlemash) and Liverpool (Liver and Mash). Click on the links to find out more about what happened at each event.
Rather than try and predict what you might get out of attending a Mashed Library event, I’d like to invite anyone who’s attended a previous event to leave a comment 🙂
Chips and Mash — July 30th 2010
Welcome to the event blog for “Chips and Mash”, a free Mashed Library event running at the University of Huddersfield on Friday 30th July. The event is being sponsored by Intellident Ltd.
Although there’s no programme for the day yet, we’re planning to start around 10am and finish around 4pm.

The event has a vague general theme of:
…but don’t let that put you off! The actual event will be an unconference themed around whatever the attendees are interested in.
Online registration is available here: https://library.hud.ac.uk/chipsandmash/
If you’ve not attended a Mashed Library event before, more information can be found on the main Mashed Library Wiki.
More information about the event will appear here soon!
